Classical nymph patterns with a brass bead will find their use in river nymphing even today - in time of modern tungsten nymphs. It is true that they will not get as deep as their modern variants, but they are excellent as dropper flies that are drifting slightly above the bottom or under the surface and we can catch the active fish feeding them in the water column.
Miniature nymphs like Micro Rambo, Micro Bead Head Hare's Ear or Pheasant Tail Micro Nugget are great nymphs for delicious autumn fishing for the grayling, while the classic Golden Nugget Hare's Ear nymphs are still great for river brown trout!
